Maximum Support

Tilt in space can be used to improve posture and redistribute pressure.  This can also be converted to include forward tilt for rehabilitation or in self transferring situations.  The adjustable back recline will accommodate users with limited hip flexion and when used in combination with tilt in space it can prevent sliding from the chair.

Optional lateral supports and supportive pillows can help to maintain or improve posture and facilitate functional ability in activities of daily living such as eating and communicating.  The correct use of these features and accessories can also reduce common problems such as falling to the side when seated.

SORRENTO™ Accessories

Three soft, fiber filled, Dartex covered support cushions on the back of the chair that can accommodate abnormal spinal postures such as scoliosis and kyphosis while improving comfort. They can be moulded and adjusted to suit specific spinal presentations.
A unique combination of lateral fibre filled support cushions with a horizontal head pillow. This positioning can gently accommodate kyphotic or scoliotic postures and prevent falling to the side while facilitating comfort. Each of the support cushions can be moulded and adjusted to suit specific patient presentations.
A ramp in the seat cushion can give a permanent degree of tilt for the users chair and can be used for the purposes of improved positioning and deceased risk of sliding. This can be exchanged for alternative seat cushion options at a later date.
This pressure management hip and arm support gives extra protection to the patient sitting in the chair by allowing immersion and envelopment of bony prominences in the arm of the chair. The arm supports help with postural alignment by supporting the arms and stabilizing the pelvis. With this added hip and arm support, the arms provide an additional level of pressure management.
A side pocket can be added onto your chair for convenience to keep personal items within reach.
Fitting over the shoulders, this soft-filled pillow provides head and neck support while maintaining visual field and interaction.
This “C” shaped pillow provides lateral head support for clients with poor head control and encourages a midline head position. It increases comfort and contact with the chair and incorporates the Seating Matters pressure management used on user contact surfaces of the chair.
This pillow provides support to the head, maintaining comfort and maximising contact with the seat back, ensuring the body is loaded and positioning is optimised.
These pressure redistributing supports are used for those needing thoracic/trunk support and helps reduce development or further deterioration of scoliosis, as well as promoting midline sitting for those that tend to lean to one side.
Helpful for clients whose legs abduct and externally rotate. They protect the feet from injury or objects in the path of chair movement. They also help to keep the feet supported on the footplate.
Lateral wedges are an alternative form of lateral support to support the lumbar back. Available as a pair or singular.
Padding can be incorporated into the footplate of the chair for additional pressure management, to accommodate or improve foot position or to further decrease the seat-to-footplate height for individual users.
The leg rest wedge helps to elevate the clients legs further.
Keep your handset accessible and in easy reach at all times with this simple handset loop.
Instrumental in keeping the chair clean and adhering to infection control protocols, especially with clients who suffer from incontinence. They can be removed and sterilised or replaced as necessary.
These further reduce the width of the chair to accommodate users with particularly narrow hip widths. The amount of padding is variable and these can be removed to suit the needs of multiple users.

To help keep the chair stationary, 4 braked castors can be added to the chair frame at time of ordering or in retrospect. Brakes can be engaged from the front or the back of the chair.
The angle finder kit allows easy identification of exact angles of tilt in space and back angle recline. This is fundamental in monitoring repositioning and comprehensive pressure management regimes.
300mm rear wheels that provide additional ease of manoeuvrability. These can be used to control the direction of movement during transit providing smooth mobility. A wheelchair ratchet breaking system which provides a stable and secure break on the chair is included as standard with stroller wheels.
