This lady spent long periods sitting in her chair each day, often feeling uncomfortable and experiencing lower back pain. She had great difficulty transferring using a sit-to-stand hoist, as her knees wouldn’t bend. Upon assessment, we observed a fixed lean in her trunk, along with windswept legs—both postures requiring special accommodation in her seating. Additionally, a hip joint limitation heightened her anxiety, causing her to lock her knees to prevent sliding or falling.
After assessing her needs, the Sorrento chair’s back angle was adjusted to accommodate her hip limitations.
