The Bariatric Sorrento™ was designed to help seat bariatric patients by using improved postural support and repositioning, while reducing the risk of injury to the patient and staff alike.  The Bariatric Sorrento™ is the world’s only tilt in space bariatric chair on wheels.

A Revolution in Seating Design

The Bariatric Sorrento chair  takes into consideration the weight of the client, the body proportions, physical dimensions, range of movement, mobility and transfers. The needs of the caregiver should also be incorporated into the design of the chair.

With its adaptability and effortless adjustment, the Bariatric Sorrento™ can be adjusted to suit the changing needs of a user or readjusted to suit the needs of a new user meaning their comfort, posture and pressure management remain uncompromised.  With that in mind, the Bariatric Sorrento™ lends itself easily to multi-user environments.  Removable arms can assist with side transferring or sling application and removal.

It is used widely in hospitals and rehabilitation units.

Maximum Support

Powered tilt in space and back angle recline can be used to improve posture, comfort and to redistribute pressure. This can also be converted to include forward tilt for rehabilitation or in self transferring situations.  The adjustable back angle recline on this bariatric chair will accommodate users with reduced hip flexion and when used in combination with tilt in space, can prevent sliding from the chair.  The features are controlled by powered adjustment which facilitates effortless adjustment by the client or carer.

Pressure Management in Seating Matters Chairs

The combination of memory foam and Dartex in Seating Matters chairs give a medium to high pressure redistribution, however maximum pressure management can be achieved in a chair by applying The Four Principles of Pressure Management in Seating.  Discover more about the pressure management properties of the Seating Matters chairs here.

Now with the option of DRIVE ASSIST™

DRIVE ASSIST™ enables safer mobility at the touch of a button.  A power pack controls the movement of the chair, steered easily by a caregiver.  This added motorized movement will enable safer handling of patients with a bariatric condition by safely driving the chair, allowing caregivers to easily steer and control the movement of the chair throughout a home or care facility.
